Project Details

After the initial audit of Uptown's social channels, the main goals weere to create a more cohesive and branded look across Facebook and Instagram, create templates, post examples, and assets in Canva for staff to use, and rework scheduling in order to make posts more effective.

On both Instagram and Facebook, the amount of text put on the graphics made the content hard to digest for the user and did not convey the intended Uptown brand. Photo and video elements were also not being properly utilized. To help correct the visual side of their social channels, I was tasked to create posts that could be used and duplicated by the Marketing Manager and other staff members. This would help streamline the social process and maintain consistency across feeds. Along with a visual changes, adding coherent copy below posts was also needed, as descriptions would often include links that were not clickable, CTA's that led to no clear page, and no event details.

Things I Did

My role in revamping and managing Uptown's social media was to:
⦿ Oversee scheduling of posts month-to-month, work with Marketing Manager to create an event calendar for social and team use.
⦿ Create templates and graphic examples for future staff to use in Canva
⦿ Worked with a videographer to incorporate video assets on socials
⦿ Designed graphics for events and t-shirts such as Rope League
⦿ Introduce how to write captions and what to omit when trying to effectively communicate details for an event.
